Let’s explain the difference between OE parts and aftermarket parts briefly:

Your vehicle comes with OE parts which stands for Original Equipment straight away from the factory, normally these parts are supplied to vehicle factory from spare parts companies other than the vehicle manufacturer and installed in the vehicle. This makes the spare parts company an OE supplier and when you purchase the part from BMW agency you will find the spare parts company brand inside the BMW OE part packaging.

Let’s give an example to clear things up:

If you take out the spark plug from a brand new BMW 318i E90 you will find Bosch Logo on the spark plug. That means that during the car manufacturing, BMW chose BOSCH as an OE supplier for this part. Now, when you need to change these spark plugs, you can buy the OE part again from BMW in which you will find Bosch spark plugs inside the BMW packing. Or you can buy Bosch spark plugs in Bosch aftermarket packing but with a less price.

Now that you understand the difference, In Autotechnik we offer our customer both choices, you can buy the OE part in BMW or VW packing exactly the same as the agent.
